Just when I thought it was safe to go out; the -0 temps came back...I really was hoping that we would see warmer weather and was praying it would last through March which can also be a very bad weather month if you do not like cold weather like me.
My vita bot entries are showing me what I am doing wrong but my enthusiasm is waning and I think because I can't get out in the sunshine for any appreciable length of time to walk due to the temps. This cold weather makes me want comfort food and lots of it!! On the Today show that is tracking results of 3 folks who are dieting and losing weight one of the ladies has the same problem and she is resolving it by
making homemade soups to reach for when she is craving sweets or carbs .... I will try that as I usually make a lot of soup but have not been this winter for some reason - laziness? I just do not like to cook anymore...I guess that will be my focus (as well as giving up potato chips) for March till March weigh in.... Doing good with water which I always drank a lot of...... The other suggestion they made was to get up during commericals of most shows that many of us watch in the evenings and do some exercise, walking in place, lifting weights, jumping jacks for 2 hour long shows which will get you about 40 mins of exercise...... I can do the walking in place and weights and I have my bands on my dining room chairs to do chair sit ups ...I just need to do it!!!!! Cio

One thing I am learning from the vita bot program is that, if I am going to eat out with the "gang", I need to review menus online, choose and record what I want if not on the menu and then tweak my choice depending on my daily calories before I get to the restaurant and then stick to my plan...It is so easy to feel that you need to treat yourself but that is not actually true when you eat out as often as I do!!! Weigh In day 2- 22-14
Well, in spite of my setbacks - fall, flu and knee problems (which have not gone away) I still lost 3.6 lbs. Feel I might have achieved double that if I had b een able to get out and about these last 5 weeks....The key is to keep trying! This knee will heal eventually..... Hope everyone had a good day.... 5th blog
Oh so good to see the sun... brightens up my spirit and motivates me to get out today to walk since my knee is so much better. I am nervous about the weigh in on Sat since I have not been doing my usual exercise but trying to keep to the 1-1-1 plan with less than stellar results.... It is not as easy as I thought and I have been snacking out of boredom and not keeping healthy snacks around.... Time is wasteing..... I need to empty my shelves of all "bad" things and get to the store and stock up on more fruit and veges..... Most important is that I have to inventory my freezer and then write out meal plans and then stick to them no matter what.... The last couple of months have been terrible and I hope my black cloud is moving away from my life so I can get on with it. I really have a potato chip habit.....it really is a habit...I know I should not eat them but I get anxious if they're not in the house and if they are I overeat or grab them when I am not really hungry but want something...way too many carbs and salt!!!! I quit smoking many years ago so need to try to remember how I did that and apply the same strategies to the chips. Same with diet pop....too many folks have said how bad it is for you....that will be my goal for the next month along with writing out menus for the week and doing some shopping ........... Well, the knee is feeling better so maybe I'll be back to bowling and exercise sooner than I thought. My meal plans are exceeding my calorie allotment.... must do a better job of planning, shopping and cooking. Back to the drawing board!

4th Blog
Well, I guess I will be testing the theory about whether or not you can lose weight without exercising. I did see an ortho today and no bowling or exercise classes for 2 weeks to see if pain level is down after cortisone shot I got today....If not, I will then have an MRI and if no tear possibly 3 gel shots over a 3 week period of time. I do not know if I will be able to exercise during the entire next 5 weeks! That is such a bummer as I try to exercise at least 3 or more times per week....... I am still going to do upper body strength exercises tho. If this snow would go away I would take a walk in the fresh air but maybe I can walk the track in 2 weeks at the Y. I eally missed the dinner Monday as I was looking forward to it and hope to get my coupons so I can go this coming Monday. Good luck to you all.... My scale is showing loss of 3 lbs but I do not know if the "official" scale will agree! Cio Margaret

I'm a little behind as I got a late start and trying to catch up... I'm missing a dinner at Alladin's tonight as I twisted my leg/knee and have an immobilizer on which would make it hard to drive; also rather nauseaus from the pain meds... oh well, I see the ortho on Wed and hopefully will have good news; otherwise I may have to consider plan B if I cannot exercise for a long period of time.....

2nd Blog
I cannot believe another snow storm....this winter is really making it hard to have strong resolution about my diet and exercise program but at least I am getting over the virus or whatever I have had for over 2 weeks!
I met with the nutritionist and with Katelyn to go over the Vita Bot program. I am excited about this tracking program . It is very sophisticated and I hope I don't have to spend hours tracking my eating plan. I went to the Y yesterday for a 45 min Silver Sneakers class and since my bowling was cancelled today will exercise to a new DVD that I bought for some weight training. Making a big pot of Weight Watchers Soup that I love as it is filling, low in calories and tastes delish. Should help keep me on plan.
